چکیده

The potential value of an oscillating-mirror rapid-scanning spectrometer as a detector for simultaneous multi-element emission spectrometry is demonstrated. A microwave argon plasma was used as the emission source with a carbon cup sampling device for analyte introduction. Analy tical graphs for bismuth, cadmium, manganese and magnesium prepared sirnulta neously are shown. The sensitivity of this system for cadmium, manganese and magnesium is a t the nanogram level. The spectrometer has a wide optical range of 200-930 nm that can be scanned in a single sweep and a large dynamic range as radiation is detected by a photomultiplier tube.

Characteristics of Helium Microwave-Induced Atmospheric Pressure Plasma for Fine Particle Analysis

Helium microwave-induced plasma (He-MIP) for trace element analysis is generated by a 2.45 GHz microwave power ( ~ 1 kW) with the Okamoto cavity of the surface wave mode at atmospheric pressure, and an iron excitation temperature and an electron density of the plasma are measured. With 0.8 kW input microwave power, an excitation temperature of 8000 K and the electron density of 2 x 10/cm are ob...

Determination of rare earth elements in geological samples by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry with flow injection liquid-liquid extraction.

A direct sampling with organic solvent extracts for simultaneous multi-element determination implemented with inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) associated with a flow injection liquid-liquid extraction (FI-LLE) sample preconcentration method was studied. The "robustness" of the plasma discharge with tributyl phosphate (TBP) loading was diagnosed by using the Mg I...

Optimized microwave-assisted decomposition method for multi-element analysis of glass standard reference material and ancient glass specimens by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry.

A novel microwave-assisted wet-acid decomposition method for the multi-element analysis of glass samples using inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) was developed and optimized. The SRM 621 standard reference glass material was used for this purpose, because it has similar composition with either archaeological glass specimens or common modern glasses. For the main c...
